John Pough's Eulogy
John Thomas Pough passed away March 24th, 2012. As a foreigner in this community he achieved honor and respect from those who knew him. For many years he taught English at AUA here in Udon Thani as well as privately to many others. Most people knew him for his work with the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States of America. He served diligently in nearly every position in the VFW and often as commander. He was always willing to accept positions of responsibility and help others with their problems whether personal or professional.
John was stationed many places during his time in the United States Air Force. He served at 4 year tour in Germany, two years in Korea, one year in Vietnam, and his last duty station was here in Thailand. John retired from the United States Air Force and made his home here in Udon Thani.
He is survived by his wife, Liam (Chanpichai) Pough, whom he married June 5th 1985, and his many children. Six were from his first marriage in which his wife at that time died. Later he married again in Thailand and had three more children. His last wife Liam Pough and he had a daughter.
These children are: Gary Pough, Robin (Pough), Evelyn (Pough), Vickie (Pough), Valerie (Pough), John Pough Jr., Siriporn (Pough) Montgomery, Roberta Pough and Jennifer Pough. He was also blessed with many grandchildren.
